Thoughts:  That is an excellent band name.  Made me grin immediately.  His second song made me wonder if this is what Buddy Holly would sound like in 2025.  Or maybe I am thinking of Roy Orbison.  The fourth song made me think of Father John Misty.  He's got that sort of 60's/70's melodic pop thing going.

Tyler Perry is his real name.  Has to be a bummer when a famous person has your name and you want to be famous with your own name.  He went to Berklee College of Music, but dropped out after smoking lots of weed and skipping class.  He was living in his mom's basement in Rhode Island, working in the office of his dad's dog training school.  On a whim, he applied to a job in L.A., lying on his resume but getting the job after a few phone interviews.  He moved to Venice Beach and started doing music on the side.  Last fall, a clip of him started circulating online, and soon labels were lining up.  It all apparently clicked when he started covering Roy Orbison's "Crying" to close his shows, and people freaked out.  You hear that all over his hit "Help Me Out."  196k streams and pure bliss.

Some is some jenky homemade video action right there.  But the voice is undeniable.  Only five songs that are really his - he has one collaboration with something called Vulfmon - so you don't get much more than a little taste test of what he can do.  The top streamer is "Hold," with 205k streams.

That lady is named Ali Angel and they are very goofy together.  Funky little bop.  "Got a New Car" has some of that FJM vibe that I mentioned, like a Laurel Canyon vibe-fest.  I also grin that he uses his own name in that song.  "Radio" is just beautiful.
