Tyla Taweh

One Liner: More boring Autotune mumble rap/R&B songs from a friend of Post Malone

Wikipedia Genre: Hip hop, pop
Home:  L.A

Poster Position: new addition to the poster

Both Weekends. Saturday.

Thoughts:  All of his most popular tracks involve a much larger name on the track.  Post Malone, Wiz Khalifa, DaBaby, Ginna and Wiz Khalifa, YG, Tommy Lee... and several of those are just repeated songs, i.e. three of his top ten are the same song just remixed, and two others are another song repeated.  Either way, I am not impressed, this is another mealy mouthed rapper using too much AutoTune and doing nothing special with any of it.  Lots of sex talk - bad lines about the amazing ways that he gets head from his girls.  Boring and lame.

Tyler Jamal Brown is from Orlando, but now lives in L.A.  He apparently worked at Dunkin Donuts, doing short shifts but telling his mom all the money was coming from Dunkin, until his mom threw him out for selling drugs.  He has a lot of face tattoos.  Let's dig in to them:
  • 999 on his forehead.  According to Juice Wrld, he got 999 on his arm because: "it is a number of good luck that will bring him hope and courage to carry on despite all the negativity and obstacles. 999 represents taking the bad situations and turning them into something positive so you can move forward."  Of course it does.  How did I not know that?
  • Dripping broken heart under his left eye.  He said: "That’s my favorite structure. I’m not broken-hearted though carrying a thesis all over my physique is bone-head to me. It’s an art form. we fuck wit it.”  What in the hell does that even mean?
  • Knife under his right ear.  Looks like a switchblade.
  • "407 till Dxxth" above his left eye.  His mobile number is 407-564-6923, which has the Orlando-area area code.  That is a deeply dumb tattoo.
  • A script thing above his right eye that might say GG4L?  Internet searches show that this could be the Global Grid 4 Learning (an edTech platform), Go Getta Films, or Guilty Gear?  I bet he is really into edTech.
  • Something on his hairline that might say HEART FULL OF RAGE.  Matches his RAGERBOY tat on his chest.
  • On his eyelids - good and vibes.  Awful tattoo.  He apparently got it in memory of his favorite rapper XXXtentacion, who had bad vibes tattooed on his body.
  • Another broken heart on the left side of his neck.  That is a thesis and bone-head, bro.
  • LOVE (with the O crossed out) under his right eye.
  • "Fuck the Rules" over "1995" on his throat.  '95 is his birth year.
  • YAWEH in red on his hairline on the left side.  He said "On head I don’t know, I got a few on my face now and when I was super drunk one night, I ended up with Yaweh on my head and I was like, “Yeah, I’m done."  This guy sounds like a moron in each of these quotes.
  • Three hearts, one broken, near his left ear.  Thesis.
As for the music, he has one album - 2019's Heart Full of Rage.  He has a cameo from French Montana and one from PnB Rock.  The top song is the album opener, "High Right Now."  85.4 million streams.
Uses a bassline that reminds me of one of the old Eminem songs, the progression of that bass.  Okay beat, not awful but also not particularly special.  Lyrically uninteresting - just him being so high he can't remember where he is, naming many drugs.  Meh.

The bigger hit is the one he has with his best buddy - Post Malone.  They've even gotten matching tattoos.  A 2020 single, called "Tommy Lee," it has 178.7 million streams and even a version that includes Tommy Lee playing drums under new, terrible guitar licks added to it.
Sounds very much like one of the weaker Post Malone songs.  Autotuned singing and boring lyrics about how great his life is and all the good stuff he has.  Posty on their doing his weird vibrato singing thing.  That dude has a surplus of face tats as well!

When he showed up in LA, he was discovered by Post Malone - I wish Wikipedia gave more details about that.  Another article just says he went out there and his charisma caught Posty's attention. That article also asked him what he thinks about the fact that he looks like Wiz Khalifa and sounds like Swae Lee.

No thanks on any of this.  If it is your jam, I hope you love it.
