Slayyyter

Weekend One Only: Saturday

Thoughts:  Her second-most streamed song made me grin for a sec, but I literally don't understand what she could mean by feeling "daddy as fuck."  I have no clue.  This is Auto-tuned pure pop stuff.  Real name is Catherine Grace Garner.  That name sounds like a Little Women character, and yet that family's sweet little Catherine Grace ended up singing aa song about being "daddy as fuck."  The world comes at you fast, man.

She started out releasing tunes on Soundcloud, and then put out an initial mixtape in 2019.  Since then she has released one album - 2021's Troubled Paradise.  She tried college at the University of Missouri, but dropped out to do music full-time.  "Mine" was her first single, that she broke with a snippet on Twitter.  It is still her top track with 35.7 million streams.
Ugh.  Hate the effects-laden voice.  The tune itself sounds like an old RuPaul ripoff.  Good choice on that barbed wire middle finger tattoo.  Definitely do not enjoy that tune.  Her most recent tune is called "HATEFUCK," so I'll let you investigate that one on your own if you feel like you need that in your life.  It is not good.  I'll give you one more, the top song from that 2021 album.  "Clouds" with 6.5 million streams.
Much less low-fi video for sure, but still a generic piece of pop with nothing special or memorable going on.  I'll admit this, even though it likely will offend someone, at first I thought that maybe this person was transgender - the music very much sounds like something a contestant on DragRace would play, and her makeup and look are so over-the-top and manufactured, that it sort of looked like that Trixie Mattel gal from last year's ACL poster.  But no, this seems to be a woman.  Although Wikipedia says that she previously tweeted some bad racist stuff, and since apologizing, now gives money to charities benefitting black trans youth.

Wikipedia also notes that "her music style has been likened to Britney Spears, Lindsay Lohan, and Paris Hilton."  Which is perfect (even if I think it is rude to lump Brittney in with those other two dopes).

This is butt.  I will not go watch it.
