I have been ruminating on a post about all of the local festivals, and then saw this article today showing that LiveNation is now acquiring a majority stake in the company that puts on Governor's Ball in New York. Governor's was one fest last year that had a jealousy-inducing lineup (Black Keys, Florence, Bjork, My Morning Jacket, Ryan Adams, Tame Impala, Drake), but we'll see what happens now that they are being swallowed up into the machine.
This year, they've got Kanye, the Killers, Beck, Death Cab, De la Soul, Gary Clark Jr., Father John Misty - some more good stuff.
I'll work out my post on local festivals soon. I know you're holding your breath.
