Lesly Reynaga

One Liner: Local Mariachi band singer with a great voice

Wikipedia Genre: No Wikipedia, but I'll say pop, Mariachi
Home:  Austin (by way of Monterrey, Mexico)

Poster Position: 29

Weekend Two Only. Saturday.

Thoughts:  What is up with Saturday being the Spanish language day at ACL?  Three performers in a row who are all Spanish singers.  Oh wait, not all of them, just her most popular track.  Got some Shakira sounds going on here.

That is her true name, and her hair is quite frankly spectacular - a huge curly mass perched on the side of her head.  March 1, 2018 was Lesly Reynaga Day here in Austin.  Proclaimed by the mayor and everything.  She began her music career in high school by joining a mariachi ensemble in south Texas.  She then came to Austin for UT, joining the UT Mariachi and starting to connect with the music industry here in town.  Strangely, one day ago, Yahoo Finance (of all places?!?!) published an article entitled "Lesly Reynaga goes from 'Mariachi Girl' to pop-rock artist."  Does she give some sick stock trading tips in the article?  No, she does not.  But it tells me that she was the featured soloist for the UT Mariachi, and then was showcased in a Zach Scott musical called Mariachi Girl.

Two EPs, 2017's Fool's Paradise and 2018's Dual Passport.  None of them have much in the way of stream counts - nothing from the first EP has registered streams.  The top track is "Heroina" from the newer one.  4,058 streams.
No official version readily available on YouTube, so you get that live version with 95 total views.  The sound in the video is bad - I promise that she actually has a great voice.  But like many other artists on this poster, because I have no clue what she is saying, I have no clue if I care about the song.  She has no new videos that show he doing the songs from the new EP - literally every video is 3 to 5 years old.  So you'll just have to go along with this one, because it has an official video, called "Silent Film."
That is the shittiest official video I have ever seen.  I am laughing out loud.  Again, her voice is great.  Nothing about that song is great and the video is laughably bad.  I won't be doing this one.
