Thoughts:  Another surprise on the poster here with a clever country singer who is a plus-sized, nose-ring-wearing, Victoria's Secret model, black gal, and leans into it with humor.  Her first single is a gospel song called "Mothers and Shepherds," but according to Wikipedia the initial interest that she found was after posting a video of her singing a song by the Highwomen.  Let's check that out.  Except, I can't find it.  Here is a version, but this is not the original one that went viral:

Since that moment of semi-fame, she has now played on stage with the Highwomen, and has also gotten to open for Willie Nelson, Jason Isbell, and Bruce Springsteen, so that is pretty freaking rad.  Videos of her and Yola joining the Highwomen on stage are confusing - in faraway grainy videos I have trouble knowing who is who.  Her top single on Spotify is funny.  "Sober and Skinny," with 1.8 million streams.

"when you get sober, I'll get skinny" makes me laugh.  Clever.  She has a really pretty voice, but on her cover of "Cowboy Take Me Away," she keeps it a little too restrained for my taste.  I want her to belt the same way that Natalie Maines did, but she reels it in and never pushes the notes out like the original.

And her only genre listed on Wikipedia is country, but some of these songs are not very country.  "Damn Right, You're Wrong" is a nice little indie pop song more than anything traditionally country.  She grew up singing in church in Baltimore, but a friend got her interested in The Chicks, which later led to Taylor Swift, and so she angled towards country and moved to Nashville.  She attended Middle Tennessee State and found side gigs as a background singer before getting to tour with Christopher Cross and Carrie Underwood.

No full albums yet, just 2020 EP Compassion and 2022 EP if i ever get there.  The lead song from that first EP is her most streamed tune - "Compassion" with 4 million streams.

I'm actually surprised at how few streams these tunes have.  The articles I'm reading make it sound like she has really blown up, with co-signs from great Nashville stars and good festival slots.  Strange.

I like it.  Not a ton of material to go off of with so few songs on Spotify, but her voice is really nice and I could see this being a fun show to see.
