Caleb de Casper

One Liner: local cross-dressing pop singer with zero bangers

Wikipedia Genre: No Wikipedia, but his website calls it horror cabaret and dark synth pop
Home: Austin!

Poster Position: 28
Weekend Two Only.  Sunday.

Thoughts:  Originally from Charlotte, NC, Caleb moved to Austin at the invitation of a punk band called XETAS.  His website says that he is a classically trained pianist and vocalist, but you wouldn't know from these tunes.  HIs profile also says to expect some theatrics: "stalks the stage in evening gowns, bondage wear, Victorian collars and the ever-present fishnets and heels, confidently declaring that masculinity comes in many different forms."

He has three songs with streams on Spotify, and added together those streams do not crack 5k.  A 2019 EP called De Casper, then a 2022 album called Femme Boy.  I very much enjoy that he named a song "Danny You're a Fuckboy."  The track with the most streams is "Do It Baby," with 1,368 streams, but I'm going to present you with the album opener instead, called "Too Many Boys," with no stream count on Spotify.
That is a bad song.  The rockin' breakdown for the chorus is just painfully generic, even if I do kind of like when he just starts naming names.  It's like a very very watered down Nine Inch Nails song.  His most streamed tune, with a whopping 2,030 streams, is his first single (which was also on that first EP).  This is "Good Boy."
Also, a terrible song.  Generic tune in the background, uninteresting lyrics.  I definitely would not go watch this dude sing these songs.
