Thoughts:  Entirely fascinating to pull up an artist who I have definitely never heard of before and see that he has a song with over a BILLION streams, which I also have definitely never heard before.  I know that music is all fractured and no one really has fully-saturated-cross-over songs anymore, but that is just weird to think that this dude has a song with more streams than 99.9% of all music, and you could have just made up his name and I wouldn't have batted an eye.  That tune is a 2024 single that is featured on his new album, Fireworks & Rollerblades.  "Beautiful Things."  1.072 billion streams.

Looks like he should be singing a country song by that video.  But he sounds more like a Harry Styles type boy band refuge.  A good tune for sure - I like the sentiment about begging with God not to take the good things he's been given.

Just one album, that new 2024 one, but a couple of EPs, one in 2022 and one in 2023.  His first song is from 2021, so this is a recent thing he has going on.  His third single, "In the Stars," is his second biggest one with 762 million streams.

Well, that is fuckin' sad.  Jeez.  His mustache really makes it hard for me to take him seriously!

He got his start via TikTok, releasing original music on there and then getting chosen for American Idol.  He withdrew from the competition despite making the Top 24 (not sure why?) but kept getting bigger on TikTok until he was signed to a label.  Fast forward to 2024, and Taylor Swift selected him to open one of her shows at Wembley Stadium.  No pressure kid!

Let's do one more, just for additional flavor.  This was his first single, 2021's "Ghost Town," with 397 million streams.

There he is before the mustache.  He's a cute fella, and that is a pretty solid love song.  This guy is good.  Unexpected for me to be in on a boy-band-type, but he writes good songs and has a great voice.
