Leon Bridges {UPDATED}

Holy hell yeah.  Super soulful bluesy rock.  He's only got a four song EP so far, but this stuff is fantastic.  He is a 25 year-old from Fort Worth, who has one of those backstories you just want to love.
"River" is just the slightest guitar strum, a heavy tambourine, and his wonderful voice filling the song up.  Such a pretty, soulful thing.

"Coming Home" kicks ass like an old school bluesy classic.  I mean, check it out below and tell me if you could tell whether this came out in 2015 or 1960?  Cool as hell, just slinking down through that classic sound of organ. guitar, and super basic drums.  Great tune.

"Better Man" is more retro soul badassery.  Those horns and the organ!  I mean, total old school action that is just spot right on with every little detail.

And the final track is the slow burner "Lisa Sawyer."  The background singers, with that "bop bop!" refrain down behind his soulful singing.  And then the sax flits through the room.  So cool!
Really looking forward to his album coming out in full so that I can check it out.  On the other hand, I fear that the hipster quotient thronging his mid-tier stage is going to make seeing him at ACL difficult.  Here's to hoping that someone popular but jenky plays opposite him so that I can get a private concert.

[Updated on 7/20/15]  The full album has hit the streets and it is just as good as anticipated.  It has all four of those songs from the EP, plus six other beauties.  Great sax on a lot of these, he just takes the finer points of a classic sound and smacks a home run with it.  So good.
