Walk the Moon

You must love their big hit.  I cannot deny that song.  Real deal, mountaintop, fist-pumper, pop rock gem that is damn fun to sing along to.  Although, because we are modern (and therefore annoying) parents, we sing "Come On" instead of "Shut Up," because we don't use the S-word around here.  "Shut Up and Dance"
Bow down before Pop, peasant child!  Sweet 80's homage synths, Edge-esque guitar licks, heavy disco beat drums, and bubblegum lyrics that will worm their way deep into your ear. Respect the pop craft.  And that video goes whole hog 80's awesomeness.  Well done.

Now, the question is how do they follow that up?  You know how this set is going to work - see Capital Cities in 2014 - they'll play all of their other songs and people will generally enjoy them while they wait for the big event.  They'll end the set with "Shut up and Dance," everyone will jam out for 3 minutes, and then we will all feel the loss of it being over.  But those three minutes.  We'll always have those three minutes.

They've got two albums, 2012's Walk the Moon and 2014's Talking is Hard.  Here is the top song off of Walk the Moon, called "Anna Sun," which is also their second most-listened-to song on Spotify.
Dance pop fun there too.  The rest of Talking is Hard is danceable pop rock that leans heavy on 80's influences and sounds a lot like Panic! or Fall Out Boy.  It is pretty damn fun music that sounds like it will be a good time to see live.  "Portugal" and "Avalanche" are both fine pop tunes.  I also can just about guarantee that my friend Jason will want to see these cats, so I better plan on going.
