In the Whale

Rock and roll, baby.  The opening track of their 2012 EP Cake is called 34-28-32, which is apparently the dimensions of the lady he wants to hook it up with.  Over the top of a fuzzy blast of of rock groove, and some serious metal falsetto action, its a kind of funny track.  And the rest of these tunes on this EP are similarly hard, heavy, thick riffage.  Here is the most watched one on YouTube (with only 17k views, but more than any song has spins on Spotify), "Heels:"
This little EP jams.  And the look of the band is hilarious - it is two dudes, hailing from Colorado, with Marty McFly's dad on vocals with super expressive drummer guy blasting it out in the background.  Want more?  I know I do.  Here is "Girlfriend," which is a great punk grind underneath some goofy ass lyrics.
Hell yes.  Turn that one up and feel it!  Digging these dudes and hoping they'll put out a new album before the fall.  Either way, they'll go on my short list of good finds from this year's list.
