The Legendary Soul Stirrers

Oh yeah.  This is some old school gospel soul action.  The ACL website provides zero guidance about the LSS, and their website appears to have crapped out.  Now, if you look for the "Soul Stirrers," you get some major information because, according to their label, the Soul Stirrers have been together for seven freaking decades - influencing "today's top acts" such as Boys to Men, Rod Stewart, and the Rolling Stones.  Which is really a weird ass thing to say.  Was your website written in 1989?  Actually, yes, it might have been, because I think that the maths tell me that these dudes have actually been together for more like 9 decades.  In the end, it doesn't matter.

If the LSS and the SS are the same thing (and just added Legendary to their name to spice things up after a million years), then you should know that these cats were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1989.  Maybe back in the day they made some serious Jesus gospel rock.  No clue.  But Sam Cooke was once part of the SS, so that is pretty cool.  Sounds like now all of the original folks are long gone and they just plug in new dudes with awesome voices.

Their music on Spotify is a little more jazzy and less acappela Boyz to Men-ish, but you get the idea.  Before Eminem starts yelling about killing his mom and breaking Christopher Reeves' back, you can get right with the Lord with these dudes on Sunday morning.
