Thoughts: The only reason I had ever heard of this dude before is that he was featured as a hook singer on a Macklemore song.  And the fact that I remembered that shows you a TON about my weird musical tastes and ability to remember stupid things.

The guy's name is Jordan Cook, and although he's originally a Canuck, he has ended up in Seattle after a sojourn in Memphis, Tennessee (working with Matt Chamberlain (Pearl Jam) and Ben Shepherd (Soundgarden)).  I guess the Seattle connection is what got him on a Macklemore track.

Apparently, his top song was used on a Showtime show called Roadies (and maybe also on the Leftovers?), which has led to a good number of streams.  That one is called "Are You Satisfied?" and has 3.3 million streams (actually 3,333,336, which is kinda fun).
Yeah baby.  Gimme that guitar-forward blues rock action.  Rock and rooooooooowl.

The rest of his tunes are in the same vein, but honestly, there aren't enough of them.  Four total songs available on Spotify, with two copies of that same song up above.  Two released in 2013, one in 2014 ("Lonely Sunday," and it jams), and one in 2016.  Weird.  Doesn't seem like a hot commodity that would be added to the ACL poster at this late date.  Whatever, I'm digging it anyway.

Instead of trying to hunt down one of the other singles, here is a live performance from KEXP, from 2012 though, that will give you an idea of what he's got going on.
Reminding me of Benjamin Booker or one of those other raw ass guitar guys who have come through ACL recently.  Sounds like fun to me!  Let's do it!
