Thoughts: Oh, hey, I know that song!  I clicked this one expecting to have no clue about this music, but their most listened to track is one that I've heard many a time before.  "Let's Dance to Joy Division" is old, released in 2007, but still tops their streams by a considerable amount at 62.1 million streams.
Weird video, I like it.  And I love the exuberant release of that track.  His voice is like a cross between the Bright Eyes guy and Robert Smith from the Cure.  For those of you who don't know, Joy Division was a band in the early 80's until the lead singer (Ian Curtis) hanged himself and the remaining members of the band created New Order.  Their (Joy Division) big hit, referenced in this song, was "Love Will Tear Us Apart."  If you know that song, then you know its pretty somber, and not at all ready for dancing, so that reveals the truth in the lyric here of dancing to Joy Division and celebrating the irony.  Anyway, good tune.

The band a handful of albums.  2007's Proudly Present ... A Guide to Love, Loss & Desperation (which boasts that last song, as well as their current most popular track, "Moving to New York.").  2011's The Wombats proudly present...This Modern Glitch (sticking with that crap naming convention - luckily they dropped it soon - and this album has their third most-streamed tune, "Tokyo - Vampires and Wolves").  2015's Glitterbug, and then 2018's Beautiful People Will Ruin Your Life.  The tunes remain in the same style - fun, danceable, joyous rock and roll with a touch more synth than your everyday rock band.  I very much enjoy the whole catalog (except for the shite remixes).  Tunes like "The English Summer" (from Glitterbug) are top shelf rock, just driving and ready for a fist pump.  "This is Not a Party" is also fun, although more of an 80's rock vibe.

They also get silly at times, like with the oddly titled and chorused "Lemon to a Knife Fight," from the new album.  The most listened to track from this new album is one called "Turn," with 22.8 million streams.
Another very good tune.  A little bit poignant and then more sweeping for the chorus.  Kind of a Death Cab vibe in there for me, but an English version.  And I like how, lyrically, the song is just unsure about where we all stand right now.  This album, the 2018 one, is fun and good - I hear Rivers Cuomo (from Weezer) here and there, and Two Door Cinema Club, and its funky and rock-forward and I just keep spinning these over and over.

Definitely want to give them a shot.
