ACL 2018: Daily Schedule Announced

Happy First Day of August!

ACL just announced the daily lineup, and while we don't yet know who is going to go up against each other with the full hour-by-hour schedule, we can make a few assumptions about portions of the schedule.

A couple observations:

  • I'm surprised to see McCartney on Friday night.  Thought for sure that he would be the crown jewel of the Festival with the Sunday night billing.  Too bad, honestly, because I'll be doing both Sundays this year and would have done him twice.
  • Easy choice for most adult folks to do Friday night McCartney over Odesza.
  • But Friday night's second line is crowded with some of my favorites, so that might suck.  Father John Misty, Hozier, David Byrne, Brockhampton, the National - those are all things I want to see.
  • Sad to see Chvrches right below Metallica on Saturday, means I'll likely miss out on a show I really wanted...  Might end up being a rock stage, so where you'll be able to just sit there and see Highly Suspect, then Disturbed, then Metallica...
  • Weird that Travis Scott is a Saturday headliner one week and then Sunday third place the next week.
  • Sunday has some action, but it definitely looks like the weakest day of the weekend.
More to come!

You've always wanted to do McCartney twice. "The first time is for me Paul. The second time is for you."
